Frequently Asked Questions

We get asked many questions about our American made tote bags. Here are some of those questions and their associated responses.

1) How do I clean my tote?
Each Just Dotty tote is individually treated with stain repellent , so dirt should not be a problem. If, however, you spill something on your tote, gently clean the affected area with soap and water and allow the tote to air dry. Once the tote has had a chance to dry, liberally re-apply Scotchgard and you are good to go. Do NOT put your Just Dotty tote in the washer!!

2) Where are the totes made? Just Dotty Monogram
Because our business is based in The Woodlands, TX we shop locally for most of our fabrics and trims in Houston, Texas.. Just Dotty totes are manufactured in Houston as well. Local is so good!

3) Have we ever had the straps tear away from the tote?
The straps on each tote are stitched to the tote four separate times. So far, we have never had the straps pull free or tear, although we have both overloaded our totes on many occasions.

4) Can I get my tote monogrammed?

Yes. The middle pocket of the Essential (large) tote is large enough to be mongrammed without losing the pocket itself. You can also monogram above the pocket. We love the look!

5) Will the tote fit under the seat on an airplane?
Absolutely! Every Just Dotty tote will fit beautifully under an airplane seat, with room to spare. How prepared will you look as you bring out your water, snack, pillow and travel blanket? What extra charges?

6) Can I put a laptop in my tote?
Of course! The Essential (large) tote will easily carry a 17” laptop, and the City (small) tote will carry a 13” laptop. All you favorite toys at your fingertips.

7) How did we come up with our name and logo?
Judy and Karen love polka dots and, on occasion, can be a bit crazy, so we chose the name Just Dotty. We originally planned to use dotted material on each tote, but we soon realized the impracticality of this idea. We opted, instead, to use dotted ribbon and “Dotty Diamonds” as our signature trademark.

8) What kinds of fabrics do we use?
All exterior fabrics are upholstery grade. The linings vary, but are generally cotton, a cotton blend, silk or polyester.

9) Do we restock totes once they have sold out?
No. Once a design is sold out, we do not repeat the pattern again. We believe in limited editions. However, we will create something entirely new and equally fun and fabulous.
