Our "Investment" Policy

Everywhere you go, people are talking about the economy. The national debt is skyrocketing, programs are being cut, and the price of oil continues to rise. Cities and states are in financial turmoil.  It seems that the problem is too big for a Green Goddess Essential Totesolution by any other than corporate giants. We beg to differ. From our inception, Just Dotty has insisted on investing in people. While it is true that many of the textiles we purchase are made overseas, they are sold in America, in stores and markets staffed by Americans. We deliver all our materials to our workroom in Houston, which is locally owned and which employs local workers. This has been a concious decision on our part.

Early on, we actually received a phone call on our cell phone (as we were driving down the road!) from a company in Shanghai, offering to manufacture our totes for us. We were floored. How she found us we will never know. Almost every week, we receive multiple emails from overseas companies urging us to give them our business. It is quite possible that we could save money by using foreign labor. But...if we don't support American workers and products, who will? The initial "savings" pale as we realize the lasting effects of buying non American made goods.

Espresso Yourself Essential ToteThe second facet of Just Dotty's "investment" policy involves supporting other women. As Christians, we believe strongly in tithing. A local shelter for battered women and children is our charity of choice, and we donate 10% of our profits to them each year. Each purchase of a Just Dotty tote allows us to increase our contribution levels as well as create a larger local economic impact.

So, our pledge to you is to remain connected to our roots, to demand quality materials purchased in America, to be persoanlly involved in the design and construction of all our products and to have them made in America. Our "investment" policy is really simple. Back what you believe.
